Receptionist

Core responsibilities

• Greeting and assisting visitors: Welcome guests, direct them to the correct person or office, and provide them with information or assistance. 
• Managing communication: Answer, screen, and forward phone calls, as well as handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages. 
• Administrative support: Maintain calendars and book meetings, manage office supplies, and perform clerical tasks like filing, data entry, and copying. 
• Front desk management: Keep the reception area tidy and organized and ensure a professional and welcoming environment. 
• Handling payments: In some roles, this includes presenting bill statements and collecting payments. 

Key skills and qualifications

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with visitors, clients, and staff. 
• Customer service: The ability to be friendly, empathetic, and provide exceptional service is crucial.
