Job description:

1. Strategic Management and Direction

  • Formulates, plans, monitors and evaluates the established Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures (OGSM) of the QAC Department (including individual positions) aligned with the overall OGSM of the Company while ensuring effective implementation of best practices in quality assurance and control, increasing efficiency, cost-savings and maintaining the quality of products/services as well as aid in the improvement and effectiveness of operational performance.
  • Manages, communicates and cascades the OGSM within the QAC Department.
  • Prepares the table of organization and plantilla of the Department aligned with the business needs and expectations.
  • Acts as the QAC representative in Strategic Planning Meetings, Management Committee Meetings and Management Review sessions of the Company.
  • Conducts risk assessment and identification of opportunities for established processes and tasks of the department.
  • Oversees the management of risks related to product and service quality.

2. Application of Skills and Abilities

o Oversees the management and administration of all policies, processes and initiatives in the following QAC functions/facets:

A. Quality Assurance

  • Formulates, establishes and enacts quality assurance procedures and methodologies throughout the supply and distribution cycle.
  • Leads the evaluation and assessment of current distribution and inspection points from receiving to releasing of products in order to develop new solutions and enhance the quality control systems of the Company.
  • Partners with Warehouse and Logistics Manager as well as with other leaders of the Company to execute and continuously improve these procedures.
  • Oversees the establishment, monitoring, maintenance and evaluation of quality assurance detailed records and reports. Presents these reports to operations and management to highlight quality issues or devise improved processes and procedures. Moreover, these reports provide comprehensive records of quality assurance activities and aid the business in determining the most effective and efficient processes and environment.

B. Quality Control

  • Oversees the collection, inspection, sampling and analysis of samples and test results (under controlled conditions) from incoming, inventory (as necessary) and outgoing products to evaluate quality based on established standards, parameters and specifications as well as provide feedback and interpretation to the Management Committee.
  • Serves as the final and authorized approver/signatory of product acceptance and release ensuring that all requirements, parameters and specifications are strictly implemented.
  • Oversees the performance monitoring and management of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Communicates quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, internal and external customers.
  • Reviews statistical studies, technological advances or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control.
  • C. Regulatory and Statutory Requirements
  • Oversees the coordination and response to regulatory agencies regarding product information and issues.
  • Directs the preparation and submission of regulatory agency applications, reports and correspondences.
  • Reviews all regulatory agency submission materials to ensure timeliness, accuracy, completeness, comprehensiveness or compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develops regulatory strategies and implementation plans for the preparation and submission of new products.
  • Manages regulatory agency inspections, audits or product recalls (if necessary).
  • Formulates, implements and evaluates regulatory affairs policies and procedures to ensure that regulatory compliance is maintained or enhanced accordingly.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of BS Chemistry, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Food Technology or any related courses (preferably with Professional Licensure or relevant Certifications)
  • At least ten (10) years of extensive work experience as QAC Manager in a food manufacturing/retail/trading industry. With trainings and seminars on QMS, Food Safety, cGWP/cGMP, HALAL and among others is a plus
