TILING & METAL ROOFING ESTIMATOR (External Roofing Systems)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tiling and Metal Roofing Estimator to support Australian residential and commercial roofing projects. This role focuses exclusively on external roofing systems such as roof tiles, metal roofing, flashings, gutters, and waterproofing — not trusses, structural steel, or internal framing.

This is a fully remote, part-time role, ideal for candidates who can accurately prepare estimates for Australian clients and may transition to a full-time position based on performance and workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for Australian roofing projects
• Review roof plans, elevations, and site measurements
• Calculate quantities and costs for:
• Roof tiles and metal roofing (Colorbond, longspan, etc.)
• Underlayment, sarking, insulation
• Flashings, ridge caps, valleys, gutters, and accessories
• Create detailed material take-offs and pricing breakdowns
• Apply labor, waste, and delivery cost factors
• Prepare and submit professional quotations
• Update estimates based on plan revisions or scope changes
• Coordinate with suppliers and project managers
• Ensure compliance with Australian standards and building codes

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator
• Knowledge of Australian roofing materials and standards
• Ability to read architectural roof drawings
• Proficient in Excel or estimating software
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Reliable internet and ability to work remotely

Preferred

• Experience estimating for Australian clients
• Background in residential or commercial roofing
• Familiarity with Colorbond and tiled roofing systems

Scope (Important)

This role covers only external roof systems (tiles, sheets, waterproofing, gutters, and flashings).

It does not include trusses, steel framing, or internal structures.
