Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Planner specializing in 69kV and 138kV substation and transmission line projects for Renewable Energy (Solar) grid interconnection. In this role, you will lead the scheduling, resource allocation, and progress tracking from the engineering and procurement phases through to construction and commissioning. You will ensure project milestones are achieved safely, on time, and within budget, ensuring a seamless connection to the grid.

  • Schedule Development: Build and maintain detailed master project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, clearly mapping the critical path for engineering design, right-of-way (ROW) acquisition, grid interconnection requirements, and site construction.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor daily and weekly site progress against baseline targets, generating performance metrics, S-curves, and accurate forecasting reports for renewable power plant integration.
  • Resource & Cost Optimization: Forecast manpower, material, and equipment requirements while tracking project cash flow and earned value management (EVM).
  • Risk & Change Management: Identify potential delays (e.g., long-lead transformer delivery, solar/wind farm alignment issues, weather disruptions), develop recovery schedules, and draft Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact to align renewable energy developers, engineering teams, civil contractors, environmental planners, supply chain personnel, and utility clients (e.g., NGCP/Meralco).

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related technical field.
  • Experience & Technical Skills: 3 to 8+ years of direct planning and scheduling experience in power delivery infrastructure, specifically 69kV and 138kV substation and transmission line projects within the Renewable Energy sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software (specifically Primavera P6 or MS Project).
  • Deep understanding of sub-transmission, transmission, and renewable energy system construction sequencing, including collector substations, switching stations, tower foundations, and line stringing.
  • Certifications & Licenses: Active certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is highly advantageous. Registered Professional Engineer (e.g., PRC Board Passer for REE or CE in the Philippines) is a strong advantage.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for critical path changes. Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively manage contractor claims and cross-functional teams.
