Description

The Project Assistant will provide administrative and logistical support to the project management team in executing and overseeing BCDA’s development projects. The role involves coordinating project activities, managing documentation, and ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and in compliance with BCDA standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in coordinating project activities, ensuring schedules, resources, and deliverables are aligned with project goals.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain accurate project records, including contracts, permits, plans, and reports. Prepare and file necessary documentation for project approvals and compliance.
  • Scheduling & Logistics Support: Schedule meetings, site visits, and events related to the project. Ensure that necessary resources, including materials and personnel, are available on time.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones and report on the status of deliverables, deadlines, and budgets. Communicate project updates to the project manager and relevant stakeholders.
  • Communication: Act as a liaison between internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders. Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and communications for project meetings.
  • Budget & Procurement Assistance: Assist with budget tracking and procurement of project materials and services, ensuring adherence to BCDA policies and procurement regulations.
  • Compliance Support: Ensure that projects adhere to government regulations, safety standards, and BCDA policies.
  • Problem-Solving: Assist in identifying and resolving any issues or delays that may arise during the course of the project.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in project coordination or a similar role; experience in government projects or infrastructure development is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of government procurement procedures and project management practices is an advantage.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to handle changing priorities effectively.
