Production Material Control

Job description:

The Material Controller ensures that all materials required for production are available, properly stored, and efficiently issued to the production floor. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, material flow, and supporting the supply chain to avoid production stoppages.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor raw material, component, and consumable inventory levels.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely replenishment based on production schedules.
• Issue and track materials to production in accordance with work orders.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions in ERP/MRP systems.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials according to company and safety standards.
• Support logistics and shipping activities for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Participate in process improvements to reduce material waste and inventory holding costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field
• 1–3 years of experience in inventory or material control (preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment).
• Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
