Procurement Engineer – Job Description

Assignment: Gapan, Nueva Ecija – Solar Farm Project

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and plans based on project requirements, specifications, and schedules.
  • Manage the procurement of construction materials, equipment, tools, and services required for the solar farm project.
  • Prepare and process Request for Quotations (RFQs), Purchase Orders (POs), and procurement documents.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms.
  • Compare supplier quotations and prepare bid/quotation comparison sheets for approval.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineering, Construction, Planning, and Finance teams regarding procurement requirements.
  • Monitor material lead times, delivery schedules, order status, and supplier performance to prevent project delays.
  • Ensure that procured materials and equipment comply with approved specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, quotations, supplier information, delivery receipts, and procurement transactions.
  • Monitor procurement costs against the approved project budget and identify potential cost savings.
  • Coordinate with suppliers regarding delivery, inspection, documentation, and resolution of material issues.
  • Prepare regular procurement status reports and updates for management.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a procurement tracker aligned with the project schedule.
  • Support the team in identifying long-lead items and ensuring timely procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, project procedures, and applicable requirements.

Required Software / Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Excel – procurement tracking, quotation comparison, cost monitoring, and reports.
  • Microsoft Word & PowerPoint – procurement documentation and presentations.
  • SAP / ERP Systems – purchase requisitions, purchase orders, inventory, and supplier records; experience is an advantage.
  • Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 – basic knowledge for coordinating procurement activities with the project schedule.
  • AutoCAD – basic ability to review drawings and material specifications is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in construction, solar, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in construction materials, equipment, and supplier coordination.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier evaluation, quotation analysis, and contract administration.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project procurement deadlines.
  • Willing to be assigned on-site in Gapan, Nueva Ecija.
