JOB TITLE: Pool Attendant

Reports to: Engineering Supervisor / Chief Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

The Pool Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness, orderliness, and basic operational upkeep of the swimming pool and its surrounding facilities. Working under the Engineering Department, the role supports the technical team in ensuring that the pool area is safe, well-maintained, and compliant with hotel standards and guest safety requirements. The position also assists in monitoring pool conditions and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pool Area Maintenance & Cleanliness

• Maintain cleanliness of the swimming pool deck, loungers, umbrellas, and surrounding areas
• Ensure poolside furniture is properly arranged and in good condition
• Clean restrooms, showers, and changing areas near the pool regularly
• Remove debris, leaves, and floating dirt from the pool area

Basic Pool Monitoring (Engineering Support Role)

• Monitor pool water clarity and report irregularities (e.g., discoloration, odor, or debris buildup)
• Report chemical imbalance concerns or equipment issues to Engineering
• Assist Engineering staff in basic pool upkeep activities when needed
• Ensure pool filters, pumps, and related equipment areas remain clean and accessible

Setup & Operations Support

• Prepare pool area before opening (chairs, towels, umbrellas, signage)
• Ensure pool is properly set up and safe for guest use daily
• Secure and clean the pool area after operating hours
• Support during hotel events or peak occupancy periods

Guest Assistance & Safety Support

• Assist guests with towels, seating, and basic poolside needs
• Enforce pool rules in coordination with Security or Lifeguards (if present)
• Monitor guest behavior and report unsafe activities immediately
• Assist in crowd control during busy periods

Coordination & Reporting

• Report maintenance issues (tiles, lighting, furniture damage, drainage issues) to Engineering
• Coordinate with Housekeeping for linen/towel turnover
• Assist Engineering in ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards
• Document and report incidents, damages, or unusual occurrences
