First Philippine Industrial Park is looking for a Pollution Control Officer who will be responsible for...

Ensuring compliance with the requirements of PD 1586, RA 6969, RA 8749, RA 9003, and RA 9275, their respective implementing rules, and regulations (IRRs), and other pertinent rules and regulations.

Assist investigations and provide detailed reports when there are incidents, such as but not limited to water pollution, air pollution, hazardous waste pollution, and other environmental concerns or contaminations.

Inspect and validate locator’s processes and waste discharges if compliant with the general effluent standards set by DENR/ LLDA. Compare and validate the declared PSIC Code of each locator vs the actual processes of the company.


Ensure the proper performance, operation, and maintenance of environmental management facilities or systems of the establishment such as the following:

  • Wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Hazardous waste management storage areas (permanent or temporary);
  • Solid waste segregation/management facilities (i.e. MWs: sanitary landfills. composting facilities, etc.); and Environmental monitoring devices such as Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, Air Monitoring Stations, effluent flow metering/measuring devices, groundwater monitoring wells, and other environmental monitoring devices.


What you'll be doing:

Compliance Management (Permits, Contracts, and Licenses)

  • Ensures compliance with all business, statutory, and environmental laws, rules, and regulations as applicable.
  • Keep abreast of the Environment Management Bureau’s requirements as well as the Client on pollution control.
  • Ensure compliance of Pollution Control Facilities to government standards and on-time submission of Quarterly Self-Monitoring reports to EMB
  • Monitor the generation and disposal of used oil, batteries, and other Hazardous waste.
  • Keep records/documents of hazardous waste disposal, manifest forms, and other related supporting documents.
  • Monitor the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the establishment or agency.
  • Report within reasonable time to the Authority the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual date of completion/repair and operation.
  • Act as liaison officer to EMB, clients, and other pollution regulating bodies including the local government pollution control office.


Requirement

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or any related course
  • Licensed Engineer is a plus.
  • With Driver’s License (can drive 4-wheeled vehicle)
  • With Experience in wastewater process and operation
  • Background on water and/or wastewater treatment operation and sampling
  • Familiar with and user of Google & MS Office; experienced to expert on spreadsheets
