Position Summary:

• The 3D Modeling Engineer is part of the Central Modeling Group under the PO Factory Division and is primarily responsible for designing prosthetic leg components, especially sockets, using 3D CAD tools. In addition to digital design work, the engineer will undergo patient-side training, including 3D scanning and prosthetic fitting, and will be expected to occasionally assist with fieldwork as needed. This dual-role experience ensures that engineers develop a deep understanding of real patient needs and apply that knowledge to create highly effective and user-centered prosthetic designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Create 3D models of prosthetic sockets and components based on patient scan data
• Use 3D CAD software to develop high-precision, customized prosthetic designs
• Ensure models meet functional, ergonomic, and internal quality standards
• Prepare and submit finalized 3D data for production

Patient Experience Integration

• Patients contact work of digital engineer may be tasked time to time as follows;
• Evaluate patients to determine their situation and needs to provide prosthetics.
• Measure patients in order to design proper prosthetics.
• 3D-Scan the part of a patient’s body in order to get 3D data for a prosthetics design.
• Check and observe the fitting condition and adjust the prosthesis leg to match with the patient.
• Instruct patients how to use and care for his/her device.
• Repair or update prosthetics.
• Record on all required documents for all of the patients' information.
• Correspond to travel and delivery service and go to patient homes in a specified span.
• Participate in on-site patient evaluations, 3D scanning, and prosthetic fittings according to the company’s standard
• Apply real-world observations to improve digital design quality
• Occasionally support field tasks (e.g., scanning or fitting) depending on operational needs

• Communicate effectively with Field DPEs to understand patient conditions and design intent
• Integrate feedback from fittings into future designs
• Coordinate with quality assurance and production teams
• Even though the situation is difficult, the person keeps considering the solution to proceed to the next step.

• Can make the proposal to the superior after considering the pros and cons of the idea.

Process Improvement & Documentation

• Follow and contribute to standardized modeling workflows
• Maintain accurate design records and file management according to SOP
• Support efforts to streamline design processes and improve turnaround time

Qualifications:

• With bachelor degree of any engineering/science course preferably Mechanical Engineering 
• The ability to work under strict deadlines without letting the shortage of time affect the quality of work 
• Knowledge on resolving design and functional issues arising in the course of a project
• Good verbal and written communicator in English 
• Self-motivated, self-disciplined and can do the job with minimal supervision 
• Standard computer skills: Word, Excel, email, online communication tools (slack, etc.)
