Job Description

Position: Asset Support Engineer
Location: Eastwood, Quezon City
Salary: 80 to 90K
Work set up: Pure onsite
Shift :4pm – 10pm AEST weekdays, 7.30am – 4pm on weekends

Key Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering within the C&I Major Projects team, the Asset Support Engineer:
Assists the Senior Asset Engineer with real-time performance monitoring and initial fault finding of Hybrid Energy Systems (solar PV, BESS, HV distribution) across AGL’s portfolio.
Ensures energy production, asset reliability, and energy security by identifying underperformance and emerging faults via SCADA, analytics, and monitoring systems.
Coordinates safe triage, escalation, and communication with technicians, engineers, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
Monitor system performance outside normal working hours:
Weekdays: 4pm–10pm AEST
Weekends: 7:30am–4pm AEST
Detect, validate, prioritize, and classify faults or events using SCADA and monitoring tools.
Apply initial fault containment measures and standard fault responses during degraded performance.
Execute first-line remote resets and configuration checks.
Initiate critical site attendance for fault investigation and rectification.
Assess production loss, impact on customer operations, and escalate as required.

Maintenance Management:
Create and manage work orders in Procore and NetSuite.
Coordinate with site teams and maintenance technicians.
Maintain incident timelines, operator logs, and ongoing documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (utilities experience preferred, e.g., biogas, water, or waste plants).
Experience in control centers and/or triage operations.
Experience in fault monitoring of hybrid energy systems.
Stable work history (no frequent job changes).
Recent, hands-on experience is required.

Willingness to work:
Weekdays: 4pm–1am AEST
Weekends: 7:30am–4pm AEST
Well-developed organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to coordinate with project teams
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Preferred / Advantageous:
Experience in utility-scale solar PV or renewable asset monitoring
Ability to interpret SCADA trends, event logs, one-line diagrams, and fault signatures
Knowledge of SEL protection infrastructure
Experience with CMMS platforms: Procore, NetSuite

Budget Accountability & Decision-Making:
Support the business in achieving EBIT targets through efficient design practices, minimizing site reworks, and providing detailed specifications for installation materials and scope.
