Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Network Firewall Engineer – Tier II to provide advanced support, administration, and troubleshooting for enterprise network security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, network routing and switching technologies, and Cisco security solutions.

As a Tier II Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, optimizing, and securing the organization's network environment, while ensuring high availability, performance, and compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations & Support

• Provide Tier II support for network and security-related incidents.
• Troubleshoot complex network connectivity and performance issues.
• Support enterprise routing and switching infrastructure.
• Monitor and maintain network availability, performance, and reliability.
• Escalate critical issues when necessary and coordinate with vendors and internal teams.

Monitoring & Incident Response

• Monitor network and security events using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Analyze logs, alerts, and traffic patterns to identify potential threats and operational issues.
• Investigate and resolve incidents related to network security infrastructure.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document findings.
• Ensure incidents are handled within established SLAs.

Network Performance & Security Analysis

• Conduct packet captures and traffic analysis using Wireshark.
• Review Syslog and Splunk data to identify anomalies and security events.
• Utilize monitoring platforms such as Netcool and SevOne for network health and performance monitoring.
• Manage tickets, incidents, and changes through ServiceNow.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Certifications

Required (any one):

• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)

Preferred:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)
