Assists the R&D Team in laboratory-scale experiments and batch trials for new and existing products.

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Operates food processing equipment (i.e. slicer and vacuum sealer) for laboratory-scale experiments.
2. Ensures all tools, machines and equipment used in experiments are properly cleaned and sanitized before and after use.
3. Sees to it that laboratory tools and equipment are properly stored and reports any issues or malfunctions
4. Receives, organizes and monitors laboratory supplies and consumables; reports replenishment needs
5. Assists in preparing materials needed for laboratory experiments and batch trials on new and existing products.
6. Assists in the preparation and submission of experimental and existing product samples to customers.
7. Assists laboratory analysts in setting up laboratory apparatus for chemical and analytical works.
8. Safekeep and properly label R&D retention and library samples from experimental runs.
9. Submits samples for third party microbiological, physico-chemical and nutritional analysis required for the product’s “Certificate of Product Registration” application to FDA.
10. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Attainment: College level 

Work Experience: 1-3 months experience in similar position 

Training/Skills Required: Basic Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)  , Food Processing NC1
