The Merchandiser is responsible for ensuring that products are displayed in an appealing, easily accessible manner in retail stores. This role supports product promotion, inventory management, and sales growth by maintaining the visual organization and stock levels of items, executing displays based on company standards, and creating appealing product arrangements to attract customers. The Merchandiser collaborates closely with the Sales and Marketing teams and provides insights to improve product placements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Display & Arrangement

• Arrange and maintain the display of products on shelves according to company standards, planograms, and seasonal themes.
• Ensure displays are organized, clean, and visually appealing to attract customer attention and drive sales.

Inventory Management

• Monitor stock levels on the floor and coordinate with stockroom personnel for timely replenishment.
• Report stock shortages, overages, or damaged products to the supervisor and ensure correct labeling and pricing of items.
• Assist in cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy to reduce stock discrepancies.

Sales & Promotion Support

• Set up promotional displays and ensure product visibility to maximize sales.
• Educate customers on product features and benefits to encourage purchases.
• Track the effectiveness of promotional displays and provide feedback to the marketing team.

Market Research & Reporting

• Observe competitor displays and promotions and provide insights on trends and new merchandising techniques.
• Regularly report on sales patterns, customer feedback, and inventory levels to help optimize merchandising strategies.

Coordination & Compliance

• Coordinate with the sales team and supervisors on inventory needs and product availability.
• Ensure compliance with store and company policies, health and safety regulations, and maintain a safe shopping environment.

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in merchandising, retail, or sales is preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items.
• Excellent communication skills and customer-oriented attitude.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
