Duties and Responsibilities:

1.     Lead and manage multiple M &E tasks, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

2.     Provide expert guidance and oversight in mechanical and electrical engineering design, including systems integration and compliance with relevant codes and standards.

3.     Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

4.     Oversee the design and analysis of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements and industry best practices.

5.     Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to communicate project progress, resolve issues, and gather feedback.

6.     Ensuring resource allocation is aligned with project goals while minimizing costs.

7.     Implement quality assurance processes to ensure all M & E engineering work meets the necessary specifications and regulatory requirements.

8.     Identify potential risks in projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.

9.     Ensure comprehensive documentation of engineering processes, designs, and project updates. Prepare reports and presentations for Project Management Team and clients.

10.  Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team to enhance efficiency and product quality.

11.  Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into engineering practices to improve project outcomes.

12.  Enforce health and safety standards within the engineering team and during project execution to ensure a safe working environment.

13.  Identify training needs and provide development opportunities to team members to enhance skills and knowledge in mechanical and electrical engineering. .

14.  Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development in mechanical and electrical engineering practices.

15.  Work closely with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems within Project.


Qualification & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a Construction Related University Degree.

Master's degree (optional but often preferred for advanced roles):

  • Professional Qualifications, Trainings and Accreditations (often a requirement for certain projects).

Experience:

  • Must have at least 15 years of experience in the required field of expertise.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience within a railway environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (CAD, CAM, FEA, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical or mechanical systems, depending on the specific role.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Project management and leadership skills.

Other:

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to manage and measure work using KPIs.
  • Continuous learning and staying updated on industry trends.
