MEP Draftsman

About the Role

Ruach Industries is seeking an experienced MEP BIM Designer with advanced Revit skills to support the design and documentation of modular construction projects across Australia.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, BIM coordination, and technical documentation. You'll work closely with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to produce coordinated, high-quality MEP drawings that comply with Australian standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop detailed Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) models and construction drawings using Autodesk Revit.

* Produce coordinated shop drawings, layouts, schedules, and installation documentation.

* Coordinate MEP systems with architectural, structural, and modular design models.

* Perform clash detection and resolve coordination issues using BIM workflows.

* Ensure all drawings comply with Australian building codes, relevant standards, and project specifications.

* Maintain and update BIM models throughout the project lifecycle.

* Participate in design coordination meetings with internal teams and consultants.

* Assist in developing BIM standards, templates, and documentation processes.

* Support continuous improvement of design workflows and documentation quality.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Architecture, or a related discipline.

* Minimum of 3 years' experience producing MEP drawings using Autodesk Revit.

* Advanced knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM coordination.

* Experience preparing construction documentation for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

* Strong understanding of MEP coordination and building services integration.

* Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

* Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Skills

* Experience with Navisworks Manage for clash detection.

* Familiarity with AutoCAD MEP.

* Knowledge of Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and the National Construction Code (NCC).

* Experience working on modular or prefabricated construction projects.

* Knowledge of BIM standards, including ISO 19650.

* Experience with Dynamo or Revit automation is an advantage.
