Inpatient Medical Coder

Job Overview

Level Up Talent Solutions is looking for a Lean-Pro Inpatient Medical Coder to support inpatient coding operations in a clinical, BPO, or CPO setup.

This role is responsible for reviewing inpatient medical records, assigning accurate codes, validating documentation, and ensuring coding outputs meet quality, productivity, and compliance expectations.

The ideal candidate is a PHRN or medical allied professional with CCS or CIC certification, inpatient medical coding experience, and strong attention to clinical documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records and assign accurate medical codes based on applicable coding guidelines
• Validate clinical documentation to support accurate coding and case classification
• Ensure coding outputs meet productivity, quality, and compliance expectations
• Identify documentation gaps or coding concerns and escalate when needed
• Maintain accurate coding records and work documentation
• Coordinate with QA, operations, or coding leadership on corrections and process updates
• Participate in voice or non-voice account tasks depending on business requirements

Qualifications

• PHRN or Medical Allied background
• CCS or CIC certification
• At least 1 year of inpatient medical coding experience in a clinical, BPO, or CPO setup
• Strong understanding of inpatient coding, medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical documentation 
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in coding work
• Comfortable working in a blended voice and non-voice healthcare account
• Able to meet productivity, quality, and compliance standards 

Nice to Have

• Experience in U.S. inpatient coding accounts
• Familiarity with coding audits, documentation improvement, or payer requirements
• Strong communication skills for blended account support
