Job Description:
- Review inpatient medical records, including discharge summaries, lab results, and doctors’ notes.
- Assign accurate ICD-10 and procedure codes based on patient diagnoses and treatments.
- Ensure coding complies with insurance, regulatory, and hospital guidelines.
- Input and manage coded data in hospital or claims processing systems.
- Verify and reconcile records to prevent errors or claim denials.
- Communicate with healthcare providers or billing teams to clarify unclear documentation.
- Support timely processing and submission of insurance claims for reimbursement.
