JOB DESCRIPTION – SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)
Position: Senior Operations Manager – Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall mechanical engineering operations of the company, including project execution, manpower, resources, productivity, quality, safety, and client coordination. The position ensures that all mechanical projects and operations are efficiently managed, completed on schedule, and aligned with company objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the overall operations of multiple mechanical engineering projects.
- Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, Foremen, and site personnel.
- Develop and implement operational plans, strategies, and procedures for mechanical projects.
- Monitor project progress, manpower deployment, productivity, costs, and resource utilization.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to approved schedules, budgets, plans, and specifications.
- Review project requirements, technical plans, work schedules, manpower needs, and material requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure proper execution of HVAC, ducting, piping, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and other mechanical works, as applicable.
- Monitor the performance of project teams and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable engineering codes.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and Safety teams to maintain required quality and safety standards.
- Review project budgets, cost reports, material usage, manpower costs, and operational expenses.
- Assist in resolving technical, operational, manpower, scheduling, and project-related issues.
- Identify operational risks and develop appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor procurement, delivery, and availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
- Conduct regular project and operations meetings and review project performance.
- Prepare and submit management reports regarding project status, manpower, productivity, costs, and operational concerns.
- Support business development and client relationship management when required.
- Evaluate the performance of project personnel and recommend training, reassignment, promotion, or disciplinary action when appropriate.
- Establish standard operating procedures and continuously improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper testing, commissioning, completion, and turnover of mechanical projects.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer (RME/PEME) preferred or required depending on company/project requirements.
- With extensive experience in mechanical engineering, construction, MEPF, HVAC, or related operations.
- Preferably with significant experience in a managerial or senior supervisory position.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects, teams, and site operations.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical construction processes, project management, and resource planning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and project management software is an advantage.
- Willing to travel to different project sites when required.
