Job Description: Estimator – Mechanical Engineering (Air Conditioning / HVAC)

Job Summary:

The Estimator – Mechanical Engineering (Air Conditioning) is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and related mechanical works. The role ensures that estimates are precise, competitive, and aligned with design specifications and client requirements, supporting the company in securing projects and executing them successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project drawings, specifications, and requirements related to HVAC and air conditioning works.
• Perform quantity take-offs for ducting, piping, equipment, and accessories.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor works.
• Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.
• Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation for tender submissions.
• Coordinate with the design and project teams to ensure estimates are aligned with engineering solutions and methods.
• Update and maintain cost data, price lists, and supplier databases for HVAC systems.
• Participate in site visits, pre-bid meetings, and client discussions when required.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Licensed Mechanical Engineer preferred).
• 1–3 years of experience in cost estimation for HVAC and air conditioning projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ducting, chilled water, VRF/VRV systems, and related equipment.
• Familiarity with estimation software and MS Office tools (Excel proficiency required).
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
