Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer in the construction industry is responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the installation of mechanical systems within buildings and infrastructure projects. This role involves collaborating with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure that all mechanical systems are efficient, safe, and compliant with relevant codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Development: Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building services.
2. Project Management: Oversee the mechanical aspects of construction projects from conception through completion, ensuring that timelines and budgets are met.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
4. Technical Analysis: Perform calculations and simulations to assess the performance and efficiency of mechanical systems, identifying areas for improvement.
5. Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits to monitor installation processes, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry, particularly in building systems design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
