Job Requirements:

The Chief Mechanic is responsible for overseeing vehicle maintenance and

repair operations, ensuring that all company or client vehicles are in

excellent working condition. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues,

supervising mechanics, implementing maintenance schedules, and ensuring

compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities 

Vehicle Maintenance & Repair:

1.Inspect,diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles. 2.Ensure preventive maintenance is performed on all vehicles to prevent breakdowns.  3.Oversee engine overhauls, brake system repairs, transmission servicing, and other major

repairs.

Supervision & Team Leadership:

1.      Lead, train,and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians.

2.      Assign repair and maintenance tasks to mechanics based on expertise and workload.

3.    Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and meet quality standards.

Workshop & Inventory Management:

1.      Maintain and organized and well-equipped workshop.

2.      Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability.

3.      Coordinate with suppliers for parts procurement and equipment maintenance.

Safety & Compliance:

1.      Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

2.      Conduct regular inspections and safety checks on workshop operations.

3.      Maintain records of repairs, servicing, and vehicle history.

Customer & Fleet Coordination:

1.      Communicate with customers or fleet managers regarding repairs and maintenance schedules.

2.      Provide expert recommendations on vehicle maintenance and improvements.

3.      Ensure timely servicing of company-owned or customer vehicles.
