BASIC FUNCTION

A Senior Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles or machinery. This role involves advanced technical expertise, leadership responsibilities, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards..

SPECIFIC DUTIES

1. Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles or equipment
2. Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, brake service, engine tune-ups, etc.)
3. Conduct Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for vehicles and trucks, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and replacement of worn parts to prevent breakdowns
4. Overhaul engines, transmissions, and other major components
5. Supervise and mentor junior mechanics and helper mechanic
6. Ensure all repairs comply with safety regulations and company standards
7. Maintain accurate records of services, PMS schedules, and repairs performed
8. Order parts and manage inventory when necessary
9. Test vehicles/equipment after repair to ensure proper performance
10. Respond to vehicle breakdowns and perform rescue/recovery activities, including on-site troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and coordination of towing when necessary
