Job Overview:

The Maintenance Head is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within the paper manufacturing plant. This includes ensuring the availability of necessary tools, spare parts, and equipment, managing the maintenance team, and developing proactive maintenance strategies to ensure efficient and continuous operations. The Maintenance Head plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and reliability of the plant’s machinery and infrastructure.

Operational Duties:

1. Staff Management:

● Train, evaluate, and oversee maintenance staff to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.

● Step in to assist with more complex maintenance tasks when necessary.

2. Work Prioritization and Oversight:

● Perform regular inspections and oversight of maintenance work to ensure quality and compliance with standards.

3. Budget and Financial Management:

● Manage the maintenance department’s budget and coordinate expenses for approval.

● Forecast, order, and negotiate prices for spare parts inventory to ensure cost-effectiveness and availability.

4. Tools and Equipment Management:

● Ensure the availability of necessary tools, spares, and equipment for maintenance tasks. 5. Proactive Maintenance Strategy:

● Implement inventory management systems to track and manage tools and spare parts effectively.

● Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all maintenance work.

6. Preventive Maintenance:

● Create preventive maintenance procedures and checklists to ensure regular and thorough maintenance of all plant machinery and infrastructure.

7. Record Keeping

● Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, including dates, items withdrawn, supplier information, root cause of issues, and solutions implemented.
