Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and availability of production equipment and facilities. This role ensures that maintenance tasks are properly organized, resources are allocated efficiently, and downtime is minimized while maintaining compliance with food safety and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Planning and Scheduling

·      Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all production equipment and facilities.

·      Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with production teams to minimize disruption to operations.

·      Prepare detailed work orders including labor requirements, materials, tools, and safety procedures.

·      Prioritize maintenance tasks based on equipment criticality and operational needs.

Work Order Management

·      Generate, track, and close maintenance work orders through the maintenance management system (CMMS/ERP).

·      Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair records.

·      Monitor backlog of maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion.

Resource and Spare Parts Planning

·      Coordinate with the warehouse and procurement teams to ensure availability of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance activities.

·      Maintain an updated list of critical spare parts and recommend inventory levels.

Equipment Reliability and Improvement

·      Analyze equipment failure trends and maintenance data to identify opportunities for improvement.

·      Support the implementation of reliability-centered maintenance practices.

·      Assist in root cause analysis for major equipment failures.

Coordination and Communication

·      Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, and Production teams to ensure smooth execution of maintenance schedules.

·      Provide updates on maintenance plans, shutdown schedules, and equipment availability.

Compliance and Safety

·      Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety standards, GMP, and food safety regulations.

·      Incorporate safety procedures and risk assessments into maintenance plans.

Qualifications

Education

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any related field.

Experience

·      At least 2–3 years of experience in maintenance planning, maintenance engineering, or equipment maintenance in a manufacturing environment.

·      Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG industry is an advantage.

Technical Skills

·      Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.

·      Experience using CMMS, SAP, or other ERP systems.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

·      Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
