Position Title: Civil Laboratory Technician

Department: Materials Testing – Civil Division

Company: AVM Engineering and Geotechnical Materials Testing Services

Employment Type: Contract of Service

Reporting To: Laboratory Supervisor / Technical Manager

Work Location: Tuy, Batangas


I. JOB PURPOSE

To carry out physical testing and field sampling of soil, concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials according to national and international testing standards.

II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform standard laboratory and field tests (e.g., compaction, concrete compressive strength, aggregate gradation, asphalt content).

· Assist in in-situ testing such as field density testing (FDT), plate load tests, and core sampling.

· Record, label, and manage samples appropriately.

· Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and calibration of lab equipment.

· Prepare daily logs and assist in report generation.

· Follow all safety protocols and quality control standards.

· Support on-site geotechnical investigations as needed.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

· Graduate of BS Civil Technology, or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.

· With or without experience (training will be provided).

· Physically fit and willing to work overtime and in shifting schedules, holiday and weekends (if needed) in field conditions.

· Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and DPWH standards is an advantage.

· Organized and able to multitask under minimal supervision.
