Job description:

Food preparation & cooking

• Prepare ingredients (washing, chopping, portioning) in accordance with recipes and station needs.
• Cook and assemble menu items according to standard recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines.
• Follow strict food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures at all times.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and serving sizes.

Kitchen operations support

• Set up and stock workstation before each shift.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO method).
• Assist in receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring quality and quantity accuracy.
• Operate kitchen equipment (grill, fryer, oven, chiller, freezer, etc.) responsibly and safely.

Cleanliness, sanitation & safety

• Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Dispose of waste properly and in compliance with health standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents, burns, or cross-contamination.
• Participate in deep cleaning and closing procedures.

Inventory & reporting

• Monitor and report low stock levels or missing supplies to the kitchen supervisor or manager.
• Assist in daily inventory counts and stock organization.
• Record wastage and follow proper documentation protocols.

Teamwork & coordination

• Work closely with fellow BOH crew, kitchen supervisors, and FOH staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Respond quickly to high-volume orders and adjust pace during peak hours.
• Support opening and closing duties of the kitchen as required.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or vocational/culinary training is a plus.
• No experience required; previous kitchen or food preparation experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food handling, and sanitation is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Physically fit to stand for long periods, lift ingredients, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Willing to work at SM Center Imus.
