Description
Technical Support:
- Provide first-line technical support to staff for hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone, email, or in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic IT issues, including issues with computers, printers, software, and other office equipment.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT team members or vendors as needed.
Hardware & Software Installation:
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and installation of new computers, hardware, and software.
- Perform regular maintenance on hardware, ensuring systems are up-to-date and functioning correctly.
- Help deploy software updates, security patches, and antivirus updates across the network.
Network & Connectivity Support:
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including resolving issues with Wi-Fi connectivity, VPN access, and printers.
- Monitor network performance and report any issues related to connectivity, speed, or system downtime.
User Account Management:
- Help manage user accounts, including creating, modifying, and deleting accounts in Active Directory or other user management systems.
- Assist with password resets and user access control to ensure appropriate system access levels.
- System Documentation & Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, including computers, printers, and software licenses.
- Update and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, software installation procedures, and network configurations.
IT Project Assistance:
- Assist senior IT staff with ongoing IT projects, such as system upgrades, new software implementations, or network changes.
- Participate in testing and implementation of new technology solutions and IT infrastructure improvements.
General IT Support & Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Provide support for routine IT tasks such as backup procedures, antivirus scans, and system performance monitoring.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues related to email, file sharing, or other productivity software.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate’s degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Some experience in IT support or a similar role is beneficial (internships or entry-level roles are acceptable).
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and office productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and software, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure and connectivity (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical users.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
