Description
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the financial and accounting function to ensure provision of accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts. These are intended to support tracking and forecasting financial performance from an individual project level thru to an overall company level view.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the CEO and Management Team (General Managers) to develop financial strategies that minimise risk and identify growth opportunities.
- Manage and co-ordinate workloads with the Finance Admin staff
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
- Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and Revenue Recognition.
- Undertake regular reforecasting in conjunction with Management Team
- Monitor ongoing financial performance and liaise with managers in order to understand reasons for any budget variances and ensure appropriate accounting treatments
- Acts as an approver for payments as required in line with delegations
- Manage the end of month close out procedures to ensure timely reports
- Keep project costs up to date on a weekly and monthly basis
- Produce project cost reports and forecasts and submit to Project Manager
- Produce project cash flow reports and submit to Project Manager / Finance Manager
- Produce project cash flow forecasts and submit to Project Manager / Finance Manager
- Produce overall cash flow forecasts combining all projects into single report
- Analyse cost reports and advise on strategies for improvements
- Prepare final cost report at completion of projects for team review
- Update costing templates from reviews
- Update costing bill of materials regularly based on supplier price rises
- Review historical data to provide benchmarking on hours worked in engineering, project management, site installation per project to enable improved estimates in future projects
- Assist with continuously improving systems and processes including templates in use
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensuring confidentiality is always maintained on an enduring basis regarding confidential information including, but not limited to, go-to-market strategy, client contacts, pricing information, product designs, process designs, product specifications and any other subject item or process the management holds to be of a confidential nature.
- Ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with all WHS requirements
- Ensuring Safe Work Instructions are complied with at all times

Requirements
Qualification and requirements:
Required Competencies
- Comfortable working in a highly numerically focused role with a large degree of data analysis and manipulation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work under pressure while contributing to a culture of service excellence and delivery
- Excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining oversight of the bigger picture
- Stakeholder management and ability to communicate with a wide range of people
- Proven ability to introduce improvements to policies, processes and practices
- Tenacity and a team approach; must be collaborative to achieve shared outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to work within financial systems and technology
- Microsoft Office suite competence with Intermediate/Advanced Excel capabilities
- Financial acumen including accounting principles and analysis
- High level of proficiency with MS Excel and (preferably) Smartsheet)
- High level of proficiency with AccountRight
- High level of tenacity and attention to detail
- Positive Can-Do approach
- Good communication skills
- Able to work in a remote environment
- Personal time and task management skills
Non-negotiable skills & requirements:
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years experience in an accounting role with a robust understanding of accounting principles and their practical application
- Experience in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and preparation of forecasts, preferably in a project-based business
- Proven experience in working with a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve a set of defined outcomes within set timeframes
- Tertiary qualified with an undergraduate degree in Commerce/ Business/Accountancy (preferable)
- Post-graduate accountancy qualifications (CA/CPA) (preferable)
