Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Claims Adjuster provides technical and administrative support by extending assistance in the assessment and evaluation of motor car claims and other claims as authorized by

management filed with the branch office. He is also responsible for the provision of clerical and administrative support, in the issuance/encoding and recording of pertinent data and safe keeping of claims documents.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Manager in handling queries from agents, clients, and other claims-related matters. Acknowledges receipt of claims and submitted documents, reviews and requests lacking requirements using prescribed company forms, and opens and maintains claims files and register. Verifies policy coverage, insured peril, date of loss, and premium payment status, and recommends denial of claims when policies are unpaid, beyond the credit term, or CTPL claims are reported beyond six (6) months from the date of accident pursuant to Section 384 of the Insurance Code. Upon instruction of the superior, conducts inspection and investigation of damaged vehicles, properties, and accident scenes, gathers facts and supporting evidence, takes photographs and stencils, secures repair estimates from accredited repair shops, and prepares repair cost tabulation. Ensures completeness and authenticity of claim documents, prepares claim evaluations with complete supporting papers for approval or denial, submits statistical reports as required by management, and performs other related duties assigned by the superior from time to time.
