Job description:

Job Summary

The Mason is responsible for performing masonry work, including constructing, repairing, and maintaining walls, floors, pavements, and other concrete or brick structures. The role requires ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other masonry materials.
• Prepare and mix cement, mortar, and concrete.
• Construct, repair, and maintain walls, floors, sidewalks, and other structures.
• Perform plastering, rendering, tiling, and concrete finishing as required.
• Read and interpret basic construction drawings and work instructions.
• Measure and cut construction materials accurately.
• Repair cracks, damaged concrete, and other masonry defects.
• Ensure proper curing and finishing of concrete surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Follow company safety policies and wear the required PPE at all times.
• Perform other construction and maintenance tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or vocational graduate is preferred.
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a Mason in construction, building maintenance, or related work.
• Knowledge of masonry techniques, concrete mixing, plastering, and finishing.
• Ability to use masonry tools and equipment safely.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, or at different project sites if required.

Preferred Skills

• Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, or tile installation is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret construction plans and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions

• Works at construction sites, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, or maintenance projects.
• May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, dust, noise, and physically demanding tasks.
• Requires standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and carrying materials for extended periods.
