An Industrial Washing Machine Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and optimization of industrial scale washing machines used in various settings such as laundromats, hotels, hospitals, and commercial laundry facilities. This role requires a combination of mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills specific to industrial washing equipment. 

• Installation: install industrial washing machines according to manufacturer specifications and client requirements. Ensure proper alignment, connections, and functionality during the installation process. 

• Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for industrial washing machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments as needed. 

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues with industrial washing machines. Identify root causes of malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime. 

• Repairs: Conduct repairs on faulty components or systems of industrial washing machines, including pumps, motors, bearings, belts, valves, and electrical controls. Replace or repair defective parts to restore functionality. 

• Calibration: Calibrate washing machine settings and controls to ensure proper operation and achieve desired wash results. Adjust water levels, temperatures and cycle times as necessary. 

• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance and repair activities on industrial washing machines. Identify and address potential safety hazards to prevent accidents or injuries. 

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used and machine status. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for documentation and inventory management. 

• Training and Support: Provide training and support to laundry facility staff on proper operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols related to industrial washing machines. 

• Parts Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies required for maintenance and repairs of industrial washing machines. Ensure adequate stock levels to support ongoing operations. 

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and performance of industrial washing machines. Propose and implement innovative solutions to optimize processes and reduce downtime. 

• Technical skills: Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems relevant to industrial washing machines. Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment brands and models is preferred. 

• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions quickly. 

• Safety Consciousness: Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety regulations and procedures in an industrial environment. 

• Communication skills: effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Ability to convey technical information clearly and provide instructions to non-technical personnel. 

• Physical stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment/components and working in confined spaces. 

• Education and experience: A mechanical engineer or industrial engineer or equivalent is typically required. Additional technical training or certification in industrial maintenance or a related field is advantageous. Previous experience in repairing or maintaining industrial washing machines is often preferred. 

• Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and client demands in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
