Position Summary:

The Pollution Control Officer ensures compliance with environmental laws, implements pollution prevention strategies, and promotes sustainability within the company. This role involves close monitoring of operations, reporting to regulatory agencies, and driving continuous environmental improvements.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure company-wide compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments across operations.
  3. Develop, implement, and monitor pollution control programs for air, water, and soil.
  4. Prepare and submit mandatory environmental reports to government agencies (DENR, EMB, LGU, etc.).
  5. Maintain accurate records of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation, storage, treatment, and disposal.
  6. Investigate environmental incidents, complaints, or spills; propose corrective and preventive measures.
  7. Collaborate with operations and production teams to integrate environmentally friendly practices in daily processes.
  8. Conduct training and awareness campaigns for employees on environmental compliance, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
  9. Monitor emissions, effluent discharges, noise levels, and other environmental parameters to ensure regulatory compliance.
  10. Assist in securing and renewing environmental permits, licenses, and certifications.
  11. Implement energy and resource efficiency initiatives to minimize environmental footprint.
  12. Evaluate suppliers and contractors for compliance with environmental standards.
  13. Keep abreast of changes in environmental legislation and best practices, and recommend updates to company policies.
  14. Lead internal environmental projects, such as waste reduction, recycling programs, and clean-up drives.
  15. Support management during environmental audits or inspections by government agencies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in environmental compliance, monitoring, or pollution control.
  • Knowledge of Philippine environmental laws (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RA 9003, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Pollution Control Officer or completion of related environmental training. (REQUIRED)
  • Experience handling audits, permits, and environmental reporting.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 or other environmental management systems.
