Job Summary

The Safety Officer 3 (SO3) is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Program in compliance with DOLE regulations. The role includes risk management for hazardous operations, particularly those involving chemical substances such as ammonia, and acts as the company’s official safety representative during inspections and audits.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

A. OSH Program Management

• Develop, implement, and review company OSH policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure full compliance with DOLE OSH Standards, Department Orders, and related laws.
• Serve as the principal safety adviser to management.

B. Hazard Identification & Risk Control

• Conduct regular safety inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
• Identify chemical, physical, and operational hazards, including ammonia exposure.
• Recommend and implement control measures and corrective actions.

C. Incident & Emergency Management

• Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations.
• Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive actions.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct drills.

D. Training & Safety Awareness

• Conduct OSH orientations, safety training, and toolbox meetings.
• Promote safety culture and employee awareness across all departments.
• Ensure contractor and visitor safety orientation compliance.

E. Reporting & Coordination

• Prepare and submit required OSH reports to DOLE and management.
• Coordinate with government agencies during audits and inspections.
• Work closely with BOSH Officers, Security, and Operations.

Qualifications

• DOLE-accredited Safety Officer 3 (SO3)
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (preferred)
• At least 2+ years of OSH experience
• Knowledgeable in chemical safety, emergency response, and industrial safety
• Completed the Basic PCO Training Course 
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting requirements
• Willingness to relocate to Tanauan, Batangas
