Position Summary:
Responsible for the over-all implementation, monitoring, compliance and improvement of all related occupational safety and health concerns.
Job Scope:
All Manufacturing facilities and site/ complex.
- Recommend a plans and develops accident prevention programs for the establishment to be evaluated by SO3.
- Directs the accident prevention efforts of the establishment in accordance with the safety programs, safety performance and government regulations in order to prevent accidents from occurring in the workplace
- Member in the Environmental Health and Safety Committee who will attend a monthly regular meeting.
- On-time submission of Periodic Reports required by regulatory agencies (, DOLE, BFP, etc.) and checked by immediate superior.
- Maintains liaison activities with the City/ Provincial/ Municipal and/or local safety officers;
- Attends to pertinent meetings of Safety Officers which may from time to time be called by regulatory agencies together with Safety Officer 3;
- Facilitates the compliance of the establishment with the requirements being initiated or implemented by the regulatory agencies;
- Processing, application and renewal of necessary permits, licenses and certificates related to occupational health and safety.
- Handles other matters of occupational health and safety concerns as required by his/her immediate superior or by the management;
- Develops, implements and reviews occupational health and safety policy, programs and procedures;
- Assists the company in complying with current occupational health and safety legislation and regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of employees and visitors;
- Establishes budget proposals for the operations of the occupational health and safety office and specific training programs;
- Increases occupational health and safety awareness and trainings at all levels within the organization;
- Investigates and reports on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to employees and/or visitors to the appropriate senior official, and to assist in the investigation of all accidents/incidents that result in substantial injury and damage to property.
- Develops and maintains disaster contingency plan and organizes such emergency service units as may be necessary to handle disaster situations pursuant to the emergency preparedness manual for establishments of civil defense.
- Responds to employees' occupational health and safety concerns;
- Conducts, as necessary, the safety inspection of any company facility;
- Responds to different emergency situations;
- Recommend System improvement thru review and revision of all SOP’s pertains to Safety.
- Assumes other duties as may be assigned.
- Facilitate to conduct Emergency Drill such as fire, oil spill and earthquake as per required by regulatory agency.
Requirement
Education: Preferably a licensed Engineer of appropriate discipline; or a graduate of any four (4) year course.
Years of Related Work Experience: With at least two (2) years experience in manufacturing firm with background on occupational health and safety management.
Ø Must have completed the 40-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training Course
Ø Another forty-eight (48) hours of advanced/specialized occupational safety training course relevant to the industry.
Ø Must be responsible, hardworking, honest and trustworthy.
Ø Must be pro-active, flexible, aggressive and dynamic; Good oral and written communication skill must have; Must be computer Literate.
