The General Manager is responsible for the overall management, direction, and performance of Nexus. The position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure the effective achievement of the company's business objectives, financial targets, operational standards, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and organizational development.

The General Manager serves as the primary link between the executive management and operating departments, ensuring that approved company strategies, policies, budgets, and directives are properly implemented and monitored.

II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

A. Strategic Management

  • Develop and implement business strategies, plans, and operational objectives aligned with the company's vision, mission, and goals.
  • Translate management directives into measurable departmental and organizational targets.
  • Monitor business performance and recommend corrective or improvement measures when necessary.
  • Identify business opportunities, risks, market trends, and operational challenges that may affect Nexus.
  • Provide recommendations to the CEO/President regarding business expansion, investments, cost optimization, and organizational improvements.

B. Overall Operations Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Nexus and ensure smooth coordination among departments.
  • Ensure that all departments operate according to approved policies, procedures, SOPs, and company standards.
  • Monitor operational efficiency, productivity, quality, customer service, and service delivery.
  • Establish appropriate performance standards and ensure that department heads are accountable for their respective results.
  • Resolve major operational issues and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ensure business continuity and proper implementation of contingency measures.

C. Financial Management

  • Participate in the preparation and review of the annual operating budget.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
  • Ensure that expenditures are properly controlled and aligned with approved budgets.
  • Review financial and operational reports and take appropriate action based on business performance.
  • Work closely with Finance and Accounting to improve cost efficiency, collection, profitability, and financial controls.
  • Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising operational quality and customer satisfaction.

D. Sales and Business Development

  • Provide leadership in achieving company sales and revenue targets.
  • Monitor sales performance and business development activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, suppliers, partners, and other business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for new markets, products, services, partnerships, and revenue streams.
  • Review sales forecasts and ensure that appropriate strategies are implemented to address performance gaps.
  • Support the development of customer retention and business growth strategies.

E. People and Organizational Management

  • Lead and motivate managers, supervisors, and employees toward the achievement of company objectives.
  • Establish clear accountability, responsibilities, and performance expectations for department heads.
  • Review organizational manpower requirements and recommend appropriate staffing levels.
  • Work with HR and Administration on recruitment, employee development, performance management, succession planning, and employee relations.
  • Promote professionalism, discipline, teamwork, accountability, and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that employee concerns and workplace issues are addressed fairly and appropriately.

F. Policy, Compliance, and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, government regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure proper implementation and monitoring of company policies and procedures.
  • Identify operational, financial, legal, safety, and reputational risks and recommend appropriate controls.
  • Coordinate with HR, Legal, Finance, and other concerned departments on compliance matters.
  • Ensure that required licenses, permits, registrations, and business documents are properly maintained.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.

G. Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure that processes are properly documented, implemented, monitored, and improved.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish corrective and preventive actions when targets are not achieved.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Quality Management System and applicable ISO standards.
  • Review recurring operational problems and implement sustainable solutions.

H. Management Reporting

  • Prepare and/or review regular management reports covering operational, financial, sales, manpower, and business performance.
  • Present business performance, issues, risks, and recommendations to the CEO/President.
  • Ensure that department heads submit accurate and timely reports.
  • Maintain proper documentation of major management decisions, action plans, and business initiatives.

I. Stakeholder and External Relations

  • Represent Nexus in dealings with major clients, suppliers, government agencies, business partners, and other external stakeholders, as authorized.
  • Maintain professional relationships that support the company's business interests and reputation.
  • Attend meetings, negotiations, conferences, and other activities as assigned by executive management.

III. AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

The General Manager shall have authority, within approved limits and company policies, to:

  • Direct and coordinate the activities of all operating departments.
  • Assign priorities and operational objectives.
  • Recommend hiring, promotion, transfer, disciplinary action, and separation of employees.
  • Approve operational activities and expenditures within delegated authority.
  • Recommend changes to policies, procedures, organizational structure, and manpower requirements.
  • Represent the company in authorized business and operational matter

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is an advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 5–10 years of progressive management experience, preferably with experience in General Management, Operations, Business Development, or a similar senior management role.
  • Proven experience managing multiple departments and leading teams.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial management, business development, and strategic planning is preferred.
