Objective

The Accounting Officer is primarily responsible for developing, directing and coordinating the maintenance of all accounting records concerning assets and liabilities of the company and enforcement of policies and procedures in order to obtain maximum safety and economy of the company. Responsible in financial statement preparation/reporting, compliance of government reports, general/tax accounting, funds and real accounts reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial statement and reports such as B/S, I/S, C/F and supporting schedules.
  • Interprets result of operation, submits financial reports to top management monthly/quarterly, and recommends appropriate action to strengthen weaknesses and promote operational efficiency.
  • Handles government reportorial requirements and filing, strictly monitors compliance of the following reports: EWT, VAT, ITR, BIR Relief, Semestral List of Suppliers, Annual Inventory Report, Loose-leaf Invoices and Receipts, SAWT, Annual Information Returns, Alphalist of Payees, GIS and AFS.
  • Handles Electronic Filing and submission of reports and returns.
  • Prepares monthly summary of importations, schedule of raw materials and factory supplies needed for preparation of Annual Inventory list.
  • Prepares lapsing schedule of fixed assets.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliation of DII and other real accounts such as but not limited to DUE TO/FROM Affiliates, advances to officers and employees, accounts receivables and the like.
  • Verifies and checks billings and vouchers of Tantuco group of companies prepared by Accounting Assistant prior to check preparation to ensure correctness of transaction entries.
  • Verifies and checks schedules and reports of Tantuco group of companies prepared by Accounting Assistant needed in preparation of mandatory reports to respective government agencies.
  • Monitors and checks bank reconciliation and transactions recorded in books of accounts.
  • Issues BIR Form 2307 to all applicable income recipients subjected to expanded withholding tax for Tantuco group of companies.
  • Handles tax matters and prepares required schedules and reports related to tax investigation.
  • Handles documentation and preparation of requirements regarding capital increase for Tantuco group of companies.
  • Handles BOI matters of TEI.
  • Ensures compliance with government rules and regulations and keeps abreast with recent rulings, adoptions and amendments for Tantuco group of companies.
  • Assists the personnel within the department and sees to it that nobody becomes inconsistent and non-productive.
  • Coordinates with other employees, suppliers, affiliates, business partners regarding all accounting related matters of Tantuco group of companies as the need arises.
  • Safekeeps and files vouchers and expenses and other accounting related documents of Tantuco group of companies.
  • Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by her superiors from time to time.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Preferably have at least three years relevant experience in Accounting Procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. Knowledge of government regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
