- Planning and Coordination: Developing transportation schedules and routes to ensure timely delivery while optimizing costs.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking, coordinating with warehouses to ensure proper storage conditions.
- Vendor and Carrier Management: Negotiating contracts with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
- Documentation and Compliance: Preparing and processing shipping documents, such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork, while ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Tracking and Reporting: Monitoring shipments in real-time using tracking systems and providing updates to stakeholders.
- Problem Resolution: Addressing issues such as delayed shipments, damaged goods, or customs disputes to minimize disruptions.
- Cost Optimization: Analyzing logistics costs and identifying opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising service quality.
- Customer Service: Acting as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints related to deliveries.
