Mechanical Safety Engineer (Mining Industry)

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Inspection & Maintenance: Supervise the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment (e.g., dump trucks, conveyors, crushers) and ensure strict adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA, MSHA) to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Hazard Identification & Investigation: Identify potential mechanical hazards, analyze equipment malfunctions, and conduct investigations into accidents or incidents to prevent recurrence.
  • System Optimization: Design, implement, or modify mechanical systems (including ventilation and machinery) for improved efficiency and safety.
  • Reporting & Training: Prepare technical reports on equipment status, safety performance, and train personnel on equipment safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in mining, quarrying, or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, maintenance software, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Certification: Safety-related certifications (e.g., BOSH/COSH, OSHA training)

Work Setup:

Shift: Day shift

Setup: Onsite (5-day/week)

Location: Angono, Rizal, PH
