Key Areas of Responsibility (KARs)


1. Revenue, Profit, and Cost Center Analysis

• Conduct comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analyses comparing actual hospital performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze revenue streams across various clinical service lines (e.g., inpatient, outpatient, diagnostics, pharmacy) to identify profitability trends and areas for financial optimization.
• Partner with department heads (nursing, ancillary, administration) to review cost center performance, identifying inefficiencies, waste, or opportunities for cost containment without compromising patient care.
• Evaluate the financial viability of new medical services, equipment acquisitions, and capital expenditures through ROI and payback period analyses.

2. Matrix Support for HR and Strategy

• Collaborate directly with the CHRO to analyze manpower costs, benefits utilization, and overall labor productivity metrics against hospital revenue.
• Provide financial modeling and forecasting for organizational development initiatives, staffing model adjustments, and performance-based compensation structures.
• Bridge the gap between financial constraints and human capital strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation.

3. MPH and Internal Reporting

• Lead the preparation, validation, and timely submission of regular MPH (Metro Pacific Health / Monthly Performance) reports, ensuring strict adherence to group standards and reporting timelines.
• Develop, maintain, and automate internal financial dashboards that track key hospital metrics (e.g., Average Length of Stay (ALOS), Revenue per Patient Day, Cost per Bed).
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across all financial and operational reports shared between Finance, HR, and Operations.

4. MANCOM Preparation and Executive Support

• Prepare high-level financial presentations and briefing materials for regular MANCOM meetings.
• Synthesize complex financial data into clear, executive-level narratives that highlight risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
• Act as a financial advisor during MANCOM discussions, providing real-time data interpretation and scenario modeling to support executive decision-making.
