  • Supervision and Management:
  • Oversees the daily workflow and activities of the accounting or finance team (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll).
  • Provides training, guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations for subordinate staff.
  • Manages and monitors key financial processes, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
  • Oversees and participates in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Performs complex accounting and reconciliation activities.
  • Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial reports, statements (like balance sheets and income statements), and budget projections for management.
  • Monitors and analyzes variances between actual financial results and budgeted/forecasted amounts, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Assists with the preparation, development, and administration of the annual company or department budget.
  • Contributes to financial forecasting and planning.
  • Ensures all financial activities and reporting are in strict compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or other relevant standards (like GASB for government entities).
  • Develops, implements, and monitors internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Coordinates and assists with external audits and tax filings.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
  • Experience: Several years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, often with a minimum of 2-5 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards (GAAP), auditing standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency with financial software (ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential.
