Job Description

Job Summary

The Deputy Manager – Engineering and Maintenance is responsible for managing and ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all plant and off-site facilities, equipment, and utilities. This role ensures optimal performance at the lowest sustainable cost while maintaining full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Maintenance Operations

• Lead and support the Engineering and Maintenance Group to achieve operational efficiency and reliability

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for plant facilities, machinery, and utilities

• Monitor plant condition through inspections, reports, and site tours

2. Equipment Reliability & Performance

• Ensure maximum availability and performance of plant equipment

• Analyze downtime reports and implement corrective actions

• Optimize energy utilization and maintenance costs

3. Project & Capital Management

• Oversee engineering projects, plant upgrades, renovations, and capital expenditures

• Plan and manage major shutdowns and maintenance schedules

4. Safety, Health & Compliance

• Champion a strong safety culture across all operations

• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements

5. Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and maintenance teams

• Collaborate with department heads and senior management to resolve plant issues

• Drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives

6. Budget & Performance Management

• Prepare and manage maintenance budgets

• Review KPIs and implement performance improvements


Work Location: 11th Floor, 6780 Ayala Avenue Building, Makati city


Job Qualifications

Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)

• Licensed Engineer is strongly preferred

Experience

• At least 10–15 years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance operations

• Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role

• Strong background in plant, manufacturing, or heavy industrial operations

Technical Competencies

• Preventive and predictive maintenance systems

• Maintenance Management Systems (MMS)

• Utilities and facilities management

• Project management and plant engineering

• Equipment reliability and performance optimization

Skills & Attributes

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Risk and safety management expertise

• Proficient in MS Office applications

Other Requirements

• Ability to speak and understand Cebuano preferred
