The Company is in the business of multilingual content conversion, processing and delivery. We're a medium-sized, stable company operating uninterruptedly for decades, even before social media sites like Facebook or Twitter were launched.

The Company handles daily projects in multiple languages, working with our talents located in different countries and time zones around the world.

We are looking for go-getter, reliable and committed individuals to join our Translation Team for Tagalog (Filipino).

Responsibilities:

  • Translate documents (from English to native Tagalog or vice versa) with the infusion of on-the-ground cultural nuances as a truly native, local Filipino. This primarily involves writing (texts) and not spoken language (interpretation).
  • Maintaining or exceeding the target daily volume with the highest quality possible
  • Performing “peer proofreading” and working collaboratively with fellow translators/linguists when assigned or when the need arises
  • Carrying out various tasks aside from translation such as copy adaptation, content creation, audio transcription, voice recording, and brand analysis among others (assignment of such tasks is based on a translator/linguist’s skills set)
  • Helping identify strong and weak technical systems, and taking part in methodical brainstorming for continuous improvements and optimization measures
  • Hybrid (1 day RTO/week)

Main Qualifications:

  • Ready to start anytime (not currently employed or no need for exit render)
  • Educational Attainment: has a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics, Languages, Literature, Translation Studies, Philippine Studies, and/or Journalism. Those who have taken up a few subjects in translation (translation theories, Filipino translations, etc.) will have an advantage.
  • For subject matter experts (SME) in specific fields, for graduates of relevant degrees (e.g. a Computer Science degree for IT SME applicants and a Legal Management degree for Legal SME applicants) and/or those with relevant experiences in their chosen fields will also be considered.
  • Applicants must choose at least two secondary fields and must be willing to try and learn new things.
  • Languages: Applicants must at least be bilingual—highly fluent in English and a native speaker of Filipino/Tagalog.
  • Knowledge in any other global and local languages (e.g. Visayan, Hiligaynon or Ilocano) will serve as an advantage.
  • Applicants must be adaptable to changes, can easily shift between being an independent worker and a team player, and can eventually work with little to no supervision .
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Marikina/Antipolo area (along Marcos Hi-way).

Required Skills:

  • Superb English comprehension and excellent Tagalog writing
  • Linguistic knowledge
  • Computer/technology literacy
  • Keen orientation to details and deadlines
  • Ability to balance speed and quality
  • Multitasking and time management
  • Critical Thinking
  • Accountability and Integrity
  • Able to work well with a team
  • Flexible with terminologies and various writing styles
  • High "Adversity Quotient": Used to hardships or can quickly adapt to unexpected changes

This is a full-time job and needs your full commitment when hired. Successful candidate will join a well-established Company that hires for keeps.
