JOB OVERVIEW

The Engineering Head – Glass & Aluminum Projects is responsible for the overall management, execution, and delivery of all glass and aluminum projects of the company.

This role leads a team of Project Engineers and ensures that all projects are properly planned, cost-controlled, technically compliant, and executed on schedule. The position requires strong project management capability with solid experience in glass and aluminum works, including façade systems, windows, doors, and related installations.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Overall Project Management (Primary Function)

• Handle multiple glass and aluminum projects simultaneously
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within specifications
• Monitor project progress, cost, and quality performance
• Implement corrective actions for delays and issues

2. Supervision of Project Engineers

• Directly manage and oversee Project Engineers assigned to projects
• Assign workloads, monitor deliverables, and ensure accountability
• Review and approve plans, reports, and site decisions
• Provide guidance in resolving technical and operational issues

3. Project Planning & Scheduling

• Review and approve project schedules and work plans
• Ensure proper coordination of fabrication, delivery, and installation
• Monitor critical activities and enforce timeline compliance

4. Execution & Site Supervision Oversight

• Ensure proper execution of aluminum and glass installations
• Monitor manpower deployment and site productivity
• Ensure works are aligned with approved drawings and specifications
• Address site issues through coordination with Project Engineers

5. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring

• Oversee project budgets and cost performance
• Review cost reports and identify variances
• Ensure efficient use of materials, labor, and resources
• Support QS/Estimating team in project cost validation

6. Technical Coordination (Glass & Aluminum Works)

• Ensure all works comply with design drawings and specifications
• Review shop drawings and coordinate with design/drafting team
• Resolve technical issues related to aluminum and glass systems
• Ensure constructability and proper installation methods

7. Bidding & Pre-Construction Support

• Assist in review of bid documents and project requirements
• Provide inputs on construction approach, manpower, and timelines
• Support transition from awarded project to execution phase

8. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all installations meet quality standards and client requirements
• Conduct inspections and enforce quality control procedures
• Ensure compliance with safety and construction standards

9. Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers for materials and delivery schedules
• Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance
• Assist in resolving supply and procurement issues

10. Client & Stakeholder Coordination

• Attend coordination meetings with clients and consultants
• Provide project updates and resolve escalated concerns
• Maintain strong client relationships and project confidence

11. Reporting & Documentation

• Review and consolidate project status reports
• Report overall project performance to management
• Ensure proper documentation of progress, issues, and changes
