Senior Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation & Control Engineer)
  • Strong Academic knowledge of automation systems, control systems and industrial processes

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in automation technologies like PLC,SCADA, HMI and CS
  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for system design & layout.
  • Understanding of sensor technologies, actuators & industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET)

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities

  • Effective communication skill for coordinating between clients, engineers, and technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Project Management and Engineering Supervision

  • Lead and supervise automation and engineering projects from planning, design, installation, testing, commissioning, and project completion.
  • Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, and technical documents to ensure compliance with client requirements and applicable standards.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules, manpower requirements, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineering Supervisor, technicians, subcontractors, and other project personnel to ensure timely completion of project activities.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure that engineering works are completed within the approved scope, budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

2. Automation and Control System Design

  • Design, develop, and review automation and control systems based on project requirements.
  • Develop and review PLC, HMI, SCADA, and control system designs and configurations.
  • Prepare and review control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, I/O lists, control narratives, and other technical documents.
  • Design and configure communication networks using industrial protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and PROFINET.
  • Select appropriate sensors, actuators, instruments, PLC components, and other automation equipment based on system requirements.
  • Review and verify engineering drawings and designs prepared by junior engineers and technicians.

3. Installation, Testing, and Commissioning

  • Supervise the installation, wiring, configuration, testing, and commissioning of automation and control systems.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) when required.
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure that equipment and control systems operate according to design specifications.
  • Verify PLC programs, HMI screens, SCADA systems, communication networks, and field devices.
  • Ensure proper calibration, configuration, and functionality of sensors, actuators, instruments, and control devices.
  • Identify technical issues during installation and commissioning and implement appropriate corrective actions.

4. Troubleshooting and Technical Support

  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, automation, instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA, and communication system problems.
  • Provide technical support to engineers, technicians, and project teams during installation and operation.
  • Analyze system faults and determine the root cause of recurring problems.
  • Recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients and respond to technical concerns related to project implementation.

5. Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead, guide, and mentor junior engineers, technicians, and other technical personnel.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities based on project requirements and personnel capabilities.
  • Monitor the performance and productivity of assigned team members.
  • Conduct technical coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions for engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure that team members follow approved engineering procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, discipline, and professional development within the engineering team.

6. Client and Project Coordination

  • Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers regarding technical and engineering matters.
  • Attend project meetings, site meetings, inspections, and technical discussions as required.
  • Explain technical solutions, project requirements, and system functionality to clients and stakeholders.
  • Address client comments and technical concerns and coordinate necessary revisions or corrective actions.
  • Maintain professional communication and good working relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

7. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare and review technical reports, project updates, testing and commissioning reports, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure that as-built drawings, manuals, test results, calibration records, and other project documents are properly prepared and submitted.
  • Maintain accurate records of project activities, technical issues, changes, and completed works.
  • Review and approve technical documents prepared by engineers and technicians when authorized.
  • Ensure proper turnover of project documentation upon completion.

8. Quality and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure that all engineering and installation activities comply with company policies, project specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and proper installation.
  • Identify potential safety and quality risks and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Officer and project team to ensure safe working practices at project sites.
  • Ensure that all tools, equipment, materials, and installations are properly used and maintained.

9. Materials and Resource Management

  • Review technical requirements for materials, equipment, tools, and spare parts needed for projects.
  • Assist in preparing material specifications, technical submittals, and material requisitions.
  • Verify that delivered materials and equipment meet approved specifications.
  • Monitor the proper use and handling of project materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing and Warehouse teams regarding project requirements and material availability.

10. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve automation systems, engineering processes, and project implementation.
  • Recommend new technologies, equipment, and engineering methods that can improve system efficiency and reliability.
  • Develop and implement standard procedures, checklists, and best practices for automation projects.
  • Stay updated on new automation technologies, control systems, industrial networking, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Support management in developing solutions that improve productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

11. Other Responsibilities

  • Perform other engineering-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Engineering Supervisor, General Manager, or Management.
  • Travel to project sites and client locations as required.
  • Be available to provide technical support during critical installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain professionalism, integrity, and accountability in performing all assigned responsibilities.
