Master Electrician
Job Summary
The Master Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection,
troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the Global
Catering in-flight catering facility. The role ensures the reliability and safety of electrical
infrastructure supporting catering production, cold storage operations, food processing
equipment, utility systems, and administrative facilities. The position plays a critical role in
minimizing downtime, ensuring operational continuity, and maintaining compliance with
applicable electrical, safety, and food industry standards.
Job Description
Electrical Maintenance and Operations
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery,
and equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults affecting production and facility
operations.
• Maintain electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems,
lighting systems, and distribution networks.
• Ensure continuous operation of electrical systems supporting production
kitchens, cold rooms, chillers, freezers, and warehousing facilities.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify potential hazards and equipment
deficiencies.
Equipment Troubleshooting and Repairs
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and electrical emergencies.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues affecting catering operations.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and contractors for specialized repairs
when necessary.
• Maintain records of repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
Compliance and Safety
• Ensure compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code and other applicable
regulations.
• Implement electrical safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
• Support compliance with food safety standards by ensuring utility systems
operate reliably.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure proper maintenance of emergency power systems and critical facility
infrastructure.
Project and Facility Support
Job Description
• Assist in electrical installation and improvement projects.
• Review electrical plans and specifications for facility upgrades and equipment
installations.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance and project
activities.
• Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and energy
efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting
• Prepare maintenance reports and work completion records.
• Maintain electrical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.
• Monitor spare parts inventory and recommend procurement requirements.
• Report recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• May be required to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and on-call
duties.
• Work involves exposure to production kitchens, cold storage facilities, utility
rooms, and outdoor equipment areas.
• Must be physically capable of performing maintenance activities and responding
to emergency repairs.
Qualifications
• Licensed Master Electrician (PRC Licensed).
• Graduate of Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related
technical course preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial, manufacturing, food
production, or aviation-related facilities.
• Experience with industrial electrical systems, generators, motors, control panels,
and refrigeration support systems.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and electrical
troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to operational emergencies.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
• Leadership and supervisory skills (for senior-level positions).
