JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing all substation duties such as operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring that all operations of the substation go smoothly. Substation O&M Technician’s main goal is to perform all operations along with maintenance and coordinates with other substation personnel who will take over after their shift.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Conducts turnover and coordinates daily with the next shift Substation Engineer Plant Operation and Maintenance and other

service providers during normal and abnormal conditions with the operation and maintenance of the plant.

2. Assists Substation Engineer in Day Ahead Nomination and Week Ahead generation power forecasting.

3. Assists Substation Engineer in preparation of daily generation report.

4. Performs routing inspections and maintenance on equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers and protective relays to

prevent failures and ensure operational stability.

5. Coordinates and conducts joint meter readings with Plant Operations during shift

6. Conducts switching operation of Substation Equipment during normal and abnormal conditions, per instruction from authorized

personnel.

7. Conducts all isolation and restorations of line and/or any equipment in compliance to an approved switching sequence.

8. Assists Substation Engineer in documentation of all switching operations performed.

9. Monitors Operational Parameters on Plant Equipment.

10. Gathers initial information such as but not limited to annunciator panel indication, relay/protection actuated, relay targets

(both sides of the zone for transmission line), weather, lightning arrester counters, and visual observations at the switchyard.

11. Immediately reports all fault incidents including the initial information and coordination to different functional groups in the

Plant Operation.

12. Performs hourly updating on the status of rectification being made until line/equipment is normalized on any sustained faults.

13. Records all details of the tripping incident on the applicable form and on the operations logbook.

14. Conducts the Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Preventive Maintenance Schedules as specified in the Owner’s O&M manual.

15. Adheres to strict safety protocols within the plant.

16. Performs other tasks that the Substation Engineer or Supervisor may assign from time to time.

17. Other tasks that the Substation O&M Supervisor/Engineer may assign.


QUALIFICATION SUMMARY:

1. Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or any Electrical Vocational Course.

2. With a minimum of 2 years’ experience in monitoring and operation of Sub-Station Operation and Maintenance.

3. Preferably with Valid Professional License.

4. Knowledgeable in operating and monitoring of substation equipment, monitoring, and protective devices.

5. Knowledgeable in Fault/Alarm Interpretation is an advantage.

6. With good Communication Skills.

7. Can drive Manual and Automatic Vehicle Type with a valid Driver’s License.

8. Willing to be assigned in to any point in the Philippines.
