Position Summary:


A Line Worker is responsible for the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead power or communication lines supported by poles. This role involves working at heights, handling electrical systems, and ensuring reliable service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain overhead electrical or telecom lines on poles
  • Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access elevated work areas
  • Inspect poles, wires, and related equipment for damage or wear
  • Repair or replace defective lines, transformers, insulators, and hardware
  • Assist in stringing wires and cables between poles
  • Follow safety procedures when working with high-voltage lines
  • Operate tools and equipment such as drills, tensioners, and lifts
  • Respond to outages and emergencies, including storm damage repairs
  • Work as part of a crew to complete assigned field tasks
  • Maintain accurate work logs and reports


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
  • Experience in electrical, construction, or telecom work is an advantage
  • Ability to climb poles and work at heights
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and safety practices
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license (sometimes required)
