Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of electricians and electrical technicians during shifts.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members based on operational needs and priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, including motors, control panels, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, and instrumentation.
  • Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.     
  • Monitor plant electrical systems during shifts and respond to equipment alarms or issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments (mechanical,
  • production, etc.) to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues
  • promptly.
  • Ensure all electrical maintenance activities are documented, including work orders, equipment history, and shift reports.   
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure team members adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.   
  • Conduct regular safety checks, risk assessments, and safety training for the electrical team.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in electrical systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of electrical failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support plant improvement projects and assist in the implementation of new electrical systems or upgrades.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to junior electricians and apprentices.
  • Ensure team members are updated on the latest electrical technologies, safety practices, and operational procedures.


Job Requirements

• Licensed Electrical Engineer.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in a bioethanol plant or similar industry.

• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an electrical maintenance role.

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and power distribution in an industrial setting.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical equipment and systems, including PLCs, VFDs, motors, and switchgear.

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong commitment to safety, with a working knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA).
