Dump Truck Driver

Job description:

Key Responsibilities

• Transport Materials: Haul sand, gravel, asphalt, rock, and construction waste between pick-up locations and building sites.
• Operate Equipment: Use the truck's hydraulic controls, levers, and cranks to safely dump or unload materials at designated areas.
• Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip checks on tires, fluid levels, brakes, lights, and the truck bed.
• Site Safety: Position the truck correctly for loading and follow all on-site traffic rules and road safety regulations.
• Basic Maintenance: Perform routine upkeep, check fluid levels, report mechanical issues, and keep the truck cab clean.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily logs of mileage, hours, loads, and material delivery tickets.

Job Requirements

• Driver’s License: Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience: Previous experience operating heavy-duty trucks or standard shift transmissions, ideally in construction.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform basic physical tasks or vehicle maintenance.
• Communication: Good verbal skills to coordinate smoothly with dispatchers, site foremen, and crew members.
